What's Going on in Residence?

Our Residence Life team works together to provide students as many opportunities as possible to have fun, meet and develop relationships with other students, and develop a sense of belonging in their community. Additionally, we provide programming that supports students academic development and the acquisition of life skills that our students need as young adults.

CHEM*1040 Mock Midterm and Chemistry Profs in Res Programs

CHEM*1040 is a course many of our first-year students take in the Fall Semester. To help with their preparation, the Residence Life Team arranges for Chemistry Department faculty to host study sessions with residence students. Plus, the Team runs a mock-midterm program that provides students a chance to practice writing the midterm in a realistic setting and follow-up with upper-year academic staff afterwards with any questions.

Residence Goes Apple Picking

For the first time this year, the Res Life Team filled up a couple school buses and headed to a local apple orchard/fall wonderland for apple-picking, a bon-fire, marsh-mellow roasting, a delicious bake shop, and more!

Can I Kiss You?

During Orientation Week, our “Can I Kiss You?” event with internationally renowned speaker Mike Domitrz sets the standard: sexual violence will not be tolerated, active and enthusiastic consent is imperative, and Gryphons look out for each other and stand up to sexual violence when they see it happening. Residence Life partners with the Wellness Education Centre to help make this event the success that it is.
