Early Drop Off
In order to ease traffic congestion on the normal Move-In Day (Saturday of Labour Day weekend), we invite students who live within 50kms of campus to drop off their belongings one day early (Friday).
In addition, if you are living in an Academic Learning Cluster (ALC) or Living-Learning Centre (LLC) you will also been invited to move in one day early (Friday).

If you are planning to arrive on the Friday, please use the maps below to guide your arrival to campus and navigate the unloading and parking areas.

Early Arrivals Prior to Friday
If you need to arrive earlier than the Friday prior to Labour Day weekend, you will need to apply for permission to move into residence early.
How to Apply for an Early Arrival for the Fall Term
If you want to move into your room earlier than the official move-in dates, you’ll need to apply first. Here’s what you need:
- Your room assignment (should have been emailed to you in mid-July)
- Your Central Login and password and your @uoguelph.ca email address
- A completed application form
We can’t guarantee that your room will be available but we will notify you as soon as possible once we have your request.
There is a charge per-night for each night before the official move-in day. This charge will be applied to your account in September.
Working or volunteering on campus:
If you want to move in early because you will be working or volunteering on campus, you’ll need to provide a reference from the person supervising you.

We need to receive this email at least two days earlier than your requested arrival date. We also need to have your completed application. If we don’t receive this, we will not be able to approve your application.
